The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song features a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have stated that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the region was noted for its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
