Recent Information Emerge Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
New information has come to light about the tragic passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.
The Discovery
As detailed in an account referencing a family associate, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the home. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Furthermore refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes accounts of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
