The striker has joined Sheffield United just seven months after instigating insulting chants aimed at the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, without a club after departing from Leeds, has agreed to a contract with the Championship club in difficulty until January. Bamford's seven-year career at Elland Road finished by mutual consent this past summer.

Among the player's last memorable actions while at Leeds involved leading abusive chants about Chris Wilder during the club’s promotion party this spring. Now, the former England international will feature for Wilder as the Blades’ manager seeks to pull his beloved club out of the bottom places.

Previous Conflict Involving Bamford & Wilder

The pair had previous conflict before Leeds moved up back to the top flight the previous campaign and United lost the promotion decider by Sunderland. Wilder described the forward as a "muppet" when the roles were reversed during the 2018-19 season and the Blades secured direct promotion whereas Leeds United missed out in the playoffs.

Making Amends and Looking Ahead

Everything appears to have been resolved with Sheffield United, the Championship’s lowest scorers, urgently requiring of a boost up front while Bamford aiming to rejuvenate his career.

The song about Wilder went viral in April. A repentant Bamford along with Leeds boss, Farke, phoned the Sheffield United manager the following day.

Chris Wilder said back then: “Spoke with Patrick recently and I’ve no issue whatsoever with it. I’m not sure about the words used from a fellow pro! But I appreciated and respected him calling me.

“We had 20 minutes and the same again I talked with Daniel too and we had a half-hour chat with him and he is a great person, a class act. Back in my playing days we would give it and accept it and that is an integral part of football across all levels, including a Sunday morning. I have no problem at all. I am cool with the situation and I told him that to Pat.”

Recent Playing Struggles

The forward featured in 18 appearances for Leeds in the previous campaign however the ex- Forest, Chelsea and Middlesbrough striker has faced difficulties with fitness issues in recent years.
