The next most common nationalities to have vanished from both places are Afghan nationals then Iranians.

Regulatory Updates and Ongoing Concerns

In late 2023, subsequent to a extended judicial process involving unaccompanied minor refugees missing from all hotels, the custom of routinely accommodating children in hotels was declared illegal.

Instead, officials committed to increase protection for these children by expanding the use of care facilities. Following that legal decision a further 44 children have vanished from these facilities, with 10 yet to be found and 34 recovered.
