Much like Storm Claudia swept through the north-west the prior day, Manchester City blew United away at the their home ground. It was a emphatic three goal triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their standing at the league summit.

Consecutive Defeats for United

This result represented successive league losses for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, putting them a significant margin off the top team with their title hopes severely dented.

United’s capability to juggle domestic and European football with a small roster has been a frequently analyzed topic since they secured entry to the European competition.
