Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

It said wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
