In a bizarre collaboration that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
